Flight Lesson 13
Basic Instrument Review and Outline the Practice Area - Dual

 

Objective:
The student will become proficient in instrument flying, and be able to recognize all boundaries of the practice area..

  1. Review practice area.
  2. Use of sectional chart.
  3. Slow flight.
  4. Steep turns: 360's, 720's, (45-degree bank).
  5. Instrument review (minimum 30 minutes).
  6. VOR cross-check and tracking to the station.
  7. Emergency landings.
  8. Return to airport.
  9. Pattern entry.
10. Takeoffs and landings.

Completion Standards:

Altitude +/-100 feet, Heading +/- 10 degrees, Airspeed +/-5 knots, proper scan pattern, a maximum of one second looking at each verification instrument, negligble assistance needed to return to airport.
