Flight Lesson 3
Slow Flight and Stalls - Dual

Dual 1.0 Hour (all approximate)
Pre/Postflight 1.0 Hour (all approximate)

Objective:
The student will acquire the ability to fly the airplane at the slowest possible speed, execute steep turns,
and recognize an approaching stall.

1. Discussion of national airspace system.
2. Discussion of cockpit management.
3. Collision avoidance.
4. Review of four basic maneuvers.
5. Action of flaps and trim.
6. Slow flight during level flight, climbs, descents, and turns.
7. Steep turns: 180's, 360's, 720's, (45-degree bank).
8. Basic stall introduction.
9. Use of sectional chart.
10. VOR tracking to the station.
11. Introduction to landings.

Completion Standards:

Altitude +/-100 feet, Airspeed +/-10 knots, Heading +/-10 degrees.
